Space Security Conference 2011: Building on the Past, Stepping towards the Future

April 4-5, 2011
Palais des Nations, United Nations Office at Geneva, Switzerland.

Since initiating what has become a series of annual conferences on Space Security in 2002, The Simons Foundation continues to sponsor the sessions organized by the United Nations Institute for Disarmament Research (UNIDIR) to inform the UN Conference on Disarmament on the issue of space security, the peaceful uses of outer space and the prevention of an arms race in outer space.

The most recent conference, Space Security 2011: Building on the Past, Stepping Towards the Future, was held April 4-5, 2011, at the Palais des Nations, United Nations Office at Geneva, Switzerland. The event was organized by UNIDIR in collaboration with Secure World Foundation and with support from The Simons Foundation and the governments of Canada, the People's Republic of China, the Russian Federation, and the United States of America.
