The Hon. Douglas Roche writes: "Vladimir Putin, in a strange way, has issued a wake-up call to all governments: the use of nuclear weapons is coming unless we strengthen the international system to get rid of them. Though enraged at the catastrophic mistakes made by the political systems in not embracing the principles and practices of common security, I’m invigorated anew to keep telling the Government of Canada: we have a responsibility as a NATO state to work to end all nuclear weapons."
