Jayantha Dhanapala receives 2014 International Achievement Award for Nuclear Disarmament
The Simons Foundation congratulates Jayantha Dhanapala on his receipt of the Inter Press Service (IPS) new agency's 2014 International Achievement Award for Nuclear Disarmament.
Jayantha Dhanapala was presented with the 2014 International Achievement Award for Nuclear Disarmament at a ceremony at the United Nations on November 17th for his relentless advocacy for a world free of nuclear weapons. This award is co-sponsored by Inter Press Service (IPS) news agency and the Tokyo-based Soka Gakkai International (SGI).

(Ret'd) Jayantha Dhanapala, former Under-Secretary-General for Disarmament Affairs at the United Nations, is President of Pugwash Conferences on Science and World Affairs and one of The Simons Foundation's Peace Shapers as a previous recipient of The Simons Foundation Award for Distingished Global Leadership in the Service of Peace and Disarmament.
